The South Carolina Bar Foundation (SCBF) is a non-profit organization with a primary mission of supporting law-related initiatives across South Carolina. SCBF’s grantees deliver civil legal services, educational programs related to the law, and work to enhance the fair administration of justice, ultimately striving to improve access to justice for all residents of South Carolina.

We are currently in search of a Director of Marketing and Development who will play a pivotal role in harmonizing development and marketing efforts through innovative and industry-leading approaches. This position is vital for effectively conveying the mission and vision of the SCBF and its grantees.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess experience in crafting comprehensive marketing strategies, a strong grasp of various social media platforms, proficiency in graphic design and website management, and familiarity with event management. Furthermore, the ability to identify and devise strategies for engaging potential donors is highly desirable.

This position directly reports to the Executive Director of the SCBF.

Responsibilities

  • Build and cultivate ongoing and new donor relationships
  • Develop and implement advertising strategies for fundraising efforts
  • Along with Executive Director, establish a comprehensive marketing plan
  • Create social media plan as part of marketing plan
  • Create, coordinate, design and distribute marketing and communication materials
  • Develop donor recognition program and track effectiveness
  • Participate in community functions as needed
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute SCBF hosted events across the state
  • Website development
  • Maintain notes of all donor contact in donor database

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in marketing or a related field or a degree plus related work experience.
  • Non-profit marketing/development experience a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.) are preferred.
  • Experience using various social media platforms including, Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience with website design, specifically WordPress based platforms
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail

 

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $40,000 – $50,000 depending on experience. This is a full-time position (35 hours/week) located in Columbia, SC. SCBF will pay a competitive salary commensurate with a candidate’s experience and provide excellent benefits, including health, dental, disability, life insurance, and retirement contributions.

This position is the lead designer of the marketing team and responsible for the maintenance of the Columbia College brand, ensuring that all deliverables follow the brand guidelines. This position is one of the critical components of the marketing team and must have the ability to design and produce quality print materials and digital graphics; responsible for the design, editing, and creation of graphics, print materials, digital advertising designs, and other visuals as needed for the College, including but not limited to projects for internal and external communication; and performs related duties as assigned. This class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and serves as the point person for any print/digital assets that helps promote the College.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Designs various print and digital products that promote the College and adhere to the Columbia College brand.
  • Creates design deliverable timeline and reviews completed work for formatting, accuracy, and general appearance.

What You Will Do:

Uses advanced technologies to design/develop/deploy e-learning solutions via web applications. Produces high-quality online learning modules that interface with a learning management system. Creates content and applies design/graphic principles to educational materials for traditional learning and/or blended solutions. Designs and updates e-learning using unique combinations of cutting-edge interactive media, state-of-the-art techniques, electronic tools and systems. Evaluate and revise materials based on the effectiveness of training programs and curriculum.

Test, problem-solves, updates and maintains e-learning, traditional and/or blended learning solutions. Work with Technical Support Staff to troubleshoot computer and software issues.

The University of South Carolina is seeking an Advertising Director. The advertising director is responsible for overseeing, advising, and supervising the operation of a student sales office, which is responsible for generating approximately $300,000 in advertising revenue. The director will work with the assistant director of student media to assist in the management of a student-run marketing and public relations team.
