The Director of Communications and Public Engagement provides strategic vision and leadership for all communication and public engagement efforts at the Central Carolina Community Foundation. This newly established role is critical in enhancing the Foundation’s visibility, reputation, and influence across the Midlands region. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Director collaborates closely with senior leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy, effectively telling the story of the Foundation and the community it serves. Job Description:

As Advertising Sales Manager with the Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina, Inc., you will have the opportunity to work with our passionate team at South Carolina Livingmagazine to deliver quality content to its 1.9 million readers.

We’re the reliable, proven resource that they turn to when they make travel plans, seek home improvement advice, look for delicious recipes and decide what festivals and events to attend each weekend.

The Advertising Sales Manager will be responsible for cultivating relationships with customers, setting advertisement space prices, making sure ads are delivered at the right time, billing customers, analyzing sales processes, and making suggestions for improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, business, communications, or marketing.
  • Seven to ten years of print advertising sales experience.
  • Competency in customer service.
  • CRM experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to adapt to changes while maintaining productivity.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and keep up with multiple projects and multiple project deadlines with minimal supervision.

The faculty of the School of Visual Art and Design at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a full time, professional-track instructor position at the rank of Instructor to begin August 16, 2025. The position is a 9 month appointment with a teaching load of 8 courses for the academic year. An additional administrative appointment opportunity with this position may extend the position to an 11-month appointment and a 3/3/1 load with the inclusion of responsibilities to manage the Design Studio and the Design Print Lab. The instructor position and the administrative appointment are annual appointments that may be renewed contingent upon Dean’s approval, satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding.

Additional courses taught by this position include introductory courses in design technology foundations and typographic design. New courses in entrepreneurship and business strategies for creatives could also be developed.

About the Graphic Design + Illustration program The Graphic Design + Illustration (GD+I) program is a concentration of the Studio Art BFA in the School of Visual Art and Design. Students undergo a portfolio review before admission into the program, pursue internships, and have a capstone experience before graduation. Students in the program regularly win awards and recognition with the American Advertising Federation, AIGA, Creative Quarterly, and more. The GD+I program has an engaged student body and five full-time faculty who teach courses in motion, interaction, interface and experience design, augmented reality, design with AI and machine learning, product and packaging design, typography, branding, systems, traditional illustration, drawing, and digital illustration. Designers and illustrators in our program understand the objects and interactions we create are part of larger systems and that we have responsibilities as message-makers. The Design Studio is an experiential learning capstone experience for BFA design students; students work with local, regional and national clients to develop strategy-based branding and marketing materials. As a Sales Executive, National Brand Partnerships, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding our client base across the biggest brands in the US. We’re seeking a rising star media seller with experience prospecting, pitching, closing, and growing business. The ideal candidate should have experience selling Digital, Social, Custom Content Campaigns, and Newsletter-specific sales in order to connect our audience (growing to 2 million this year) with leading national brands – similar to our current national brand partners like: SmartAsset, Babble, Athletic Greens, Opendoor, Fidelity, Hello Fresh, T-Mobile, MotleyFool and many more. 

You will lead the sales efforts selling into the third-party newsletter products we operate, with an initial and primary focus on Locked On sports newsletters.

This role will report directly to our VP, Sales.

  • Client relations – build meaningful and lasting client relationships with brand partners and maintain your dedicated book of business
  • Prospecting initiatives – constantly identify and target new business opportunities to expand your client base

  • Drive revenue – leverage existing client relationships and build new ones by identifying upsell opportunities through new product offerings, additional inventory, and renewals 

  • Sales presentations – expertly prepare and pitch partnership solutions to new and existing clients, addressing their unique goals and challenges

  • Proposals – collaborate with our Client Success and Sales teams to create tailored partnership packages and strategies for clients across all categories of business, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure profitable deals for the company

  • Sales pipeline – maintain a full-cycle sales pipeline from initial prospecting and qualifying to pitching and closing and then renewing and upselling, tracking all sales activity in HubSpot and other sales platforms

  • Client communications – collaborate with the Client Success Team on correspondence related to client contracts to ensure effective client management

  • Sales goals – meet and exceed sales performance and revenue targets

  • Monitor competition – stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitors’ offerings to identify growth opportunities
