Our AAF of the Midlands board has always known we have the best members around. And this year, we want to make sure everyone else knows it. Throughout the year our board will be selecting one individual or corporate member to showcase. This month we have selected none other than Cyberwoven.
We reached out to Cyberwoven for a quick interview to learn more about their company and hear why they’re involved with AAF. Here’s what they had to say:
AAF: Tell us about your company.
Cyberwoven: Cyberwoven is a web strategy, design and development firm focused on helping our clients drive their business forward, principally on the web. Although every engagement is different, whether it’s a website, a digital marketing strategy, a branding project, or a custom web application, our goal is the same: we want to use the web to give our clients a competitive advantage. We work with clients in a lot of different industries, so each new project is an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the clients’ world and to really understand the issues they’re dealing with. We want to solve the problems they have today; we also want to future-proof them for problems that might be coming down the road.
AAF: What’s the best part about working at Cyberwoven?
Cyberwoven: The people! We have a talented, creative group who are always looking for new ideas to drive our clients forward. We’re interested in keeping up with the latest techniques and evolving best practices. And we also like to have fun…we’re always getting together for happy hours, and we have a number of annual traditions that everyone looks forward to. Thanksgiving Throwdown is our annual cooking competition— we feast and then vote on the winners for best savory and best sweet dish. Everybody knows that nothing can compete with dessert, so those have to be in a class by themselves.
AAF: Share a fun fact about your company most people wouldn’t know.
Cyberwoven: We’ll be moving to Main Street at the beginning of 2018. We’re excited to play a part in the continued revitalization of Main Street, and to have more room to support the future growth of our company. Our building is in the process of having its façade restored to its 1941 condition, a period when it served Columbia as a JC Penney department store.
AAF: How long have you been a member of the AAF?
Cyberwoven: Our company has been a member for 6 years, but individual employees have been members for much longer. Over the years, our staff has become more and more involved in the organization, attending events, volunteering, and serving in board positions.
AAF: Why are you a member of the AAF?
Cyberwoven: We work in the industry; we support the industry. We value education around marketing and advertising, and we want our employees to benefit from this shared pool of knowledge. We also value relationships with our peers. AAF allows us to meet people that we have a lot in common with.
AAF: What’s your favorite AAF event or initiative?
Cyberwoven: The Annual Kickoff & Art Auction Event is one we look forward to each year. It is a great way to end the summer and start the new club year—reengaging in the AAF community. The event does a great job of working with local artists, of all artistic genres, bringing the community together for a silent auction. The networking is energized at this event, and letting the broader art community be a part of this helps to elevate what AAF brings to the community.
